Marco Calabria is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer graduated in Genova, Italy. His first assignment was at Mariotti Shipyard in Genova, Italy, in charge of several repair and conversion projects such as Costa Tropicale, and responsible for the deck outfitting of luxury cruise vessel Seven Seas Voyager. The next experience was in ship management, as Technical Superintendent and then Fleet Manager of ro-pax and ro-ro ferries.
The first years in marine surveys and consultancy were with Giovanni Martinoli, becoming soon partner of the firm and gaining experience in expertise and consultancy for Hull & Machinery Underwriters, P&I Clubs and several Managers and Owners. His own firm of marine surveys and consultancy then set up in Italy, CM Marine, quickly grew to become a leader with appointments from leading Hull & Machinery Underwriters, P&I Clubs and other clients.
Having moved to Monaco, he set up MARE with the aim of expanding the activities worldwide and offering the services to other markets and sectors, maintaining the focus on quality of service.
MARE therefore already has a vast portfolio of clients, including H&M Underwriters as Generali Italia, SIAT, SwissRE, AXA and P&I Clubs as Standard, Gard, British, Raetsmarine.
Based on previous activities, the firm has experience in surveys of cargo and passenger ships, motor and sail super yachts and shipyards.
